Then enter the massive banger “Megalomania,” potentially my favorite, and the next phase of this spiral. It’s the weird settle-down into colorful flowery acoustics at the end that keeps things going in an odd direction. Now all of a sudden we’re hitting levels of aggression that we’ve never seen before with “Symptom Of The Universe” which everyone basically knows by now. But its sudden cut into “Don’t Start (Too Late)” sets everything into an uncomfortable motion. Opener “Hole In The Sky” doesn’t appear any different than what was coming before, with its catchy doom-riff with noise approach. To describe what I mean, I’m unfortunately going to have to take a track-by-track approach for accurately showing the progression. All of that combined makes for potentially their most jarring release, a good way to cap off the era of perfect records before things headed down a bit. This entire thing feels like a proverbial descent into madness the further you get, and it’s so fucking eerie. While that’s objectively true, it isn’t why Sabotage is one of my favorites, rather, the songwriting reached a cross between new levels of heavy and weird. The eight songs were released first in the U.S. Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward recorded Sabotage in London and Brussels and co-produced the album with Mike Butcher.
